Colvin explains that modern retail is about the customer journey. “When a consumer is in your brick-and-mortar store, you have their undivided attention,” he states, underscoring the importance of leveraging technology to enhance the shopping experience. Partner Tech addresses this by offering holistic solutions, including self-checkout systems and digital signage, designed to optimize transactions and improve customer satisfaction.

Labor shortages and security issues are major hurdles in today’s market, and Colvin highlights how Partner Tech employs AI to mitigate these challenges. “Our self-checkouts use AI to recognize produce, predict theft, and self-heal system errors,” he says. These capabilities not only reduce transaction times but also enhance security by identifying potential theft scenarios and minimizing reliance on attendants.

C-stores present unique demands, which Partner Tech’s tailored solutions address effectively. Colvin explains the importance of compact, efficient systems, like their Alford CEO self-checkout, specifically designed for the smaller basket sizes typical in c-stores. “Space is valuable in c-stores,” he notes, adding that their systems balance compact design with robust functionality to maximize retailer profitability without compromising the customer experience.

Looking to the future, Colvin anticipates more innovations driven by AI. “It’s got to be a win for the customer, the retailer, and us,” he says, encapsulating Partner Tech’s commitment to collaborative success. He also highlights the importance of flexibility in payment options, and that accommodating customer preferences—such as cash payments—is vital to retaining loyalty in a competitive market.

Colvin closes by emphasizing the role of adaptability and collaboration in addressing the changing landscape of retail. Through its innovative products and commitment to customer experience, Partner Tech is well-positioned to support retailers as they navigate evolving consumer expectations and operational challenges.
